Sleeping Princess

Analise has been a dream this week. She only fusses when hungry, needs a diaper change, or when you take her socks off. She falls asleep between 9 & 10. Wakes for a bottle at around 2 or 2:30 and then again at 6:30am. She will then usually take her bottle and sleep for another couple of hours. She has made being a Mommy this week - very easy.

Social Worker Interviews-Completed

Today they picked up Analise for the Social Worker Interviews. She was gone for about an hour and fifteen minutes. They came back and said everyone showed up and the interviews were complete! What a relief!!! So, now we just need their report and Pre-Approval from the US Embassy so we can enter the final step (PGN).

This morning we had some extra time after breakfast. We headed over to the shops right next to the hotel. I did not feel at all scared to go there and felt safe the whole time. There were several families there purchasing mementos for the kids. IT was great!!

The ladies were SO nice and always said, "For you miss, make good price.." And boy did they-compared to the hotel! I picked out a doll at the hotel but purchased the same doll for $14 less at the shops outside.









This was yesterday. We are having a GREAT time and I only have 3.5 hours until Analise arrives!! Have a wonderful day!

HELP!! What can I eat!!

Change in plans.....

Today, I start my journey to Guatemala. I arrive tomorrow in the afternoon. We were suppose to get Analise tomorrow afternoon. That time has been postponed 24hrs. Ugh! So, we are still leaving but will not get Analise until Wednesday.

The upside-the reason is that her SW interview is scheduled for Wednesday. At least we will know that the interviews have taken place!! YES!!!

So, I will post tomorrow from Guatemala but Analise pics will not be posted until Wednesday.

PS-I am still WAY excited to be going to Guatemala!!!

Still here - Packing like a mad woman!!

This week has been SO busy!! I can't believe it is already Thursday!!! I have been preparing for the trip to Guat on Tuesday!

So far, I think I will have one carry on bag, backpack (with purse and laptop inside) and two large suitcases!!! Is this tooo much? I can't seem to fit it into anything smaller!! Oh well!

I will post something with a little more meat to it later!!

We are in Family Court and Social Worker Interviews are this week!!!! I am so excited to find this out right before I leave!!! YES!!!

Wind Swept Thank-You

So, I headed out to the mail box in the rain and wind with my "trusty" umbrella. Note to self-umbrellas sold at the local Tractor Supply Store are a little lacking in durability...please to see below.

Analise 1 1/2mths.

How absolutely adorable is this kid?!?!?!



I am doing a video too!! I will post it tonight!!!

I have a SURPRISE!!!!!

So, I had a pretty normal morning - feed the horses, laundry, clean out Analise's bedroom, shower, etc... Then I went to check the mail (it's a beautiful day today-not a clud a cloud in the sky). Opened it up and saw that we received our DNA letter and picture of Analise with her Birthmother!! I admit-I cried!! Tears of joy!! Her birthmother is beautiful!!! I ran in to show my husband (who of course is on a business call!!)! Then got online to see if Natalie or Candy was online so I could share the news with someone!!! But I saw I had an email from our agency!! Our APRIL UPDATE!!! Holy Cow!! That's alot of emotion in five minutes!!!

I haven't even looked at the pictures yet!! Hubby is on a business call and we always look together!!!

So STAT TUNED!!!!

What questions should I ask?? & a SHOUT out!!

Second, what questions should I ask the Foster mother when I get Analise??? I feel this is SO important so please everyone give me a question!!!

Shopping Extravaganza!!!

Whew!! I am exhausted from the LONG Easter weekend!! Of course, I did the Guatemala trip shopping and then helped the grandparents move on Saturday!!! There is a picture to prove just how hard I worked!!

I have been wanting a Caden Lane diaper bag for quite some time!! I just couldn't bring myself to pay the $150 price tag!! So, whatever are you going to do you ask? Why, go to ebay of course!!! I was patient and I waited for the exact bag!!! Here it is! The Caden Lane Kasey Bowler bag. All for the low, low price of $50 bucks!!!




Also, I am heading to BRU (Natalie, are you proud of me?) tomorrow for the shopping extravaganza!! My MIL (Natalie, are you proud again?) is going with me. It is going to be SO much fun to buy things that I have waited 7 years to buy!!!

The trip has been scheduled and confirmed!! I am heading to G-City in three weeks!! Let the countdown begin!!

I am SO excited about going. There are so many things to buy & pack. There in lies the question part of this post. I know you all have given this advice before but it wasn't for me. Remember, I am a first time Mommy so I need to know all the tricks of the trade!!!

For instance, what diaper ointment do I need? Do I use it every time I change a diaper? When do you use powder?

What if I don't get an update before I leave? How do I decide what size diapers to buy? She weighed 5.7lbs. 5 weeks ago.... What wipes are the best???

Do you need a stroller for an 8 week old baby?? Will a sling or snuggly work ok??

What do I absolutely need to take with me???

Come on ladies, lay it on me!!! I need to earn more Amex points for the next trip!!!
