That's What Friends Are For.....

....to hang out with you on your birthday and keep up the old traditions!! My best friend is Amanda!! She truly is the one person, other than my husband, that I can let it all hang out in front of. You know, the one who knows all the inside jokes, the one who knows when you're at the breaking point, you know, that friend. If you don't have one of these-get one fast!!!

Anyway we went for my birthday, the 13th, for dinner and a movie. Of course, we went to see Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix!! This is a tradition we have each other. You ALWAYS go to the Harry Postter movies TOGETHER!! We even made shirts one year!! Man, we are SO ROCKIN'. We decided to forgo the shirts this year!

We got there an HOUR early for the IMAX/3D version of the movie. There were probably 100 people in front of us!! BUT, we ended up getting seats right in the middle and half way up!! It rocked-even though "I" had to sit by the man who thought he was Harry Potter incarnate!!LOL!!!

We had a fabulous time and I couldn't have had a more "fantasticker" time with my BEST BUD!! LOVE YOU "patty".

Catch Up Post #1-Texas

The weekend after the 4th of July we headed to Ft. Worth, TX. We went down for the American Paint Horse Association World Show. It was fantastic and we hope to actually compete in the show next year.

The events we love the most are Cutting, Team Penning and Reining. Now, I am not going to go into detail about each event but I will give a SHORT overview for those who have no clue what I am talking about.

Cutting - A steer is released into the ring and then the horse and rider must block (cut) the cow from one side to the other.

Team Penning - 3 riders and their horses are required to peel out the three cows with the number they are given from the judge. They must then get them all in the pen. Now this is much more in depth...

Reining - Horse and Rider must complete a predetermined pattern. It will include circles, lead changes and sliding stops. Here is a short example of freestyle reining. You must complete certain parts of the pattern but you must also add your own creative touch.

The guy in the video above received a standing ovation!! It was awesome. Sorry I didn't get it all but I get to excited!!

Nursery News & HUGE Thank You!!

The news of the previo has sunk in and I can finally tolerate reading the forums and their "oh so happy, happy, joy, joy news of everyones 8 week miraculous outs". Don't get me wrong, I am extremely happy for these people and am happy their babies are OUT!!

On to bigger and better things!!! Today our crib FINALLY arrived via FedEx. Please note, we will from here on out use UPS if available.....and that's all I have to say about that. The crib is OH SO BEAUTIFUL and we were are putting it together this afternoon!! Here are a couple of picks.

Last weekend, we were in Ft. Worth,TX for the American Paint Horse World Show (apologies to those who live there for not calling). We had a FANTASTIC time because you know that everything is bigger and better in Texas!!! I will post more on the vacation later.

While I was there I made several purchases for the nursery decor!!! Here they are in all of their splendor!!! I absolutely LOVE every piece. We also ordered a black and white paint horse to hang in the room.

Analise also wants to send a BIG OKLAHOMA THANK YOU to Melissa and Sunbeam for the wonderful Cleo the Cowgirl toy and her first pair of PINK cowgirl boots! She will undoubtedly get tons of use from both!!

Not So Lucky 8.... :(

Today we received notice that we had a previo the week of June 20th (something on the Guatemalan side-we are waiting for details). We were resubmitted on June 25th.

The down side: I had a good "ugly cry"
The up side: We have been back in PGN for almost three weeks!!

As our blog title states, we are "Running the race to God's best gift...". We will continue to RUN THE RACE with joyful expectancy.

Thank you for ALL of your continued prayers!!!

The Divine Miss A - June Update

Yesterday? Was not a very fun day!! Worked all day putting up horse fencing in the hot & humid weather. One of our horses is having pain in his hoof again! Ugghh! There is nothing worse than trying to help an animal that can't talk when they are in pain. I defintely crossed the frustrated threshold and on top of that we hadn't received our June update for Analise....

But, today is another day Scarlett!!! And we have an update and NEW pics of our girl!! We just sit and stare at them, of course, like every other parent in the middle of an international adoption.

New Stats:
Weight-12.8 lbs.
Height-23 in.
