January Recap............via photos

OK, not much to post on the adoption front. So, I thought I would post a pictorial recap of January. Here it goes....

Picked out one of these. The lease is up on the truck and we wanted something with better gas mileage.

Went through this for 5 days. Please keep in mind there is no snow on the ground. That is all sleet & ice, about 4 inches of it!!!

The babies loved the cold weather. They got to wear their warm blankets and eat as much hay as they can stand. Normally, they get rationed
amounts of hay. Otherwise, they get to fat....

Hubby & I drove to Ohio to take our horse to a trainer. This was one of two pics taken on the trip....I forgot my camera charger. What a dork!!

Notice how all the branches are snapped in half from the weight of the ice!!!
Oh! I also bought two more outfits....how cute are these?!?!?
That's it for now folks!!! Expecting good news SOON about our I-171. Keep the prayers comin'!!!

little lady......

OK. So we are still waiting on I-171. Tomorrow will make 5 weeks since we had our fingerprinting done. Every day when I get home my first question to Adam is, "Did we get it?!?!" I am still waiting to come home and hear the answer "YES!" So, everyone PRAY that we get it THIS WEEK!! There is a little lady out there waiting for us!

I have curbed my anxious waiting with a little retail therapy....this is the first outfit I have purchased for Analise. I can't wait for the day that I see her wearing it!!

Adoption Update

So, here is the downlow............ups & downs
  • 2nd week of December we received our letter from Homeland Security to go for our fingerprinting. So, we went the third week of December. Fingerprinting completed. YES!!!
  • Now that fingerprinting if completed we are waiting on our I-171. This states we are approved to bring a foreign born child into the US. So, we should receive this at the end of this week or next week. The way I see it - we are on our way to our baby girl....no matter when we get it. It seemed like we were never going to get to this point after the homestudy wait.
  • Christmas was fabulous!! Analise received several gifts: clothes, first "horse" bank, praying bunny, a nativity set. It was all so precious and I loved opening every single one. It made me think of next year and how different everything will be.....SO exciting...
  • The only downer - we have to REDO our medical forms - which means going to Tulsa, going back to the Secretary of State, and resending the information to the Guatemalan Consulate in Houston. It's not so much a downer as much as it is a time consumer....

Well, that is a brief update! Please keep remembering us in prayer for the following:

  1. Analise's birth is nearing - please pray for fast, speedy, & safe delivery for Ana and her birthmother.
  2. That God will continue to give us grace for patience and understanding that it is all in His timing.
  3. Our adoption process will flow SMOOTHLY without any hookups. That our file goes into the right hands, in the right place at the right time.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Sigh of Relief

In one's journey to adopting you spend endless amounts of time acquiring paperwork. Certified paperwork!!! Everything has to be signed by a notary, certified by the Secretary of State, and then finally certified by the Guatemalan consulate in the US. Well, all together, hubby & I had 15 documents.

Today, we received 14 back!!!! Now, we wait on one more. Mine. Because I was born in another state. The document has to be certified in that state.

This just brings us one step closer to Guatemala!!! Please pray that we receive our letter for fingerprinting from CIS soon!!!
